House of Marley Positive Vibration Headphones Review

With faith in my heart and the student's wallet, I kept searching within the huge and complex world of headphones to find the perfect match which led me to House of Marley. Still quite unknown, I decided to take a trip to HMV to try them out myself and ended up buying one.

Product Specifications:

- 50mm dynamic drivers
- 20Hz to 20+kHz frequency response

Despite its relatively low price, the HoM Positive Vibration are one of the best headphones I have tried out so far (including Beats by Dre). They feature a rasta-ish design and come in three different colors. The headphones are quite comfortable (considering they are on-ear) and have good flexibility in the assembly to allow side to side movement. There is minimum sound leak on maximum volume levels (just to make sure no one else knows what great taste I have in music).

Surely enough, these headphones might not win any hearts when it comes to the design but what it loses in looks, it makes up in sound. The crisp and clear Mids and treble bundled with no distortion over maximum volume and the absolutely amazing (not overpowering) and deep bass response with reverberating drivers (the sub-woofer-ish vibration) made me buy the headphones almost instantaneously. Despite them not being noise-cancelling headphones, they completely block out all outside noise at volume levels of 65% or above.

Though these headphones sound amazing on their own, they will not nearly work at their full potential. For that, I had to pair them with a headphone amplifier (a Fiio E5 - review in progress) which completely changes things. As these are high impedance headphones, it is strongly recommended to buy an amplifier to enter that state of trance.

Final summation:

- Good build quality, Amazing sound with amazing bass response, crafted using copious amounts of recycled and recyclable materials (Because we all love the environment), reasonably priced, have the much appreciated right-angled 3.5mm gold plated headphone jack.

So do House of Marley's Positive Vibration deserve the hard earned cash from a student's wallet? Well, they do deserve a chance. I can't imagine you'd hate it, and there's a very good chance you'll love it.
